Baden Wine Route – wine on your doorstep
Baden is one of Germany's sunniest wine regions. The Kaiserstuhl lies just 25 km from Hotel Andante – volcanic terroir and world-class Pinot Noir.
Germany's sunniest wine region
Volcanic soil,
Pinot Noir & sunshine
With more than 15,000 hectares of vineyard, Baden is one of Germany's largest wine-growing regions – and one of its sunniest. The warm climate between the Black Forest and the Rhine, paired with the volcanic basalt soil of the Kaiserstuhl, creates ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
The Kaiserstuhl, just 25 km from Rust, is an extinct volcano – its hills are terraced with vines and its villages are picturesque and traditional. Rust itself lies in the Ortenau, the northernmost sub-region of the Baden Wine Route.
